Meg Whitman Breaks the Campaign
Spending Record in her Race for
California Governor
Trending today is a story on the Associated Press news wire about California Governor-hopeful, Meg Whitman.
Whitman, the former billionaire CEO of Ebay has exceeded the previous record held by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Bloomberg contributed $108 million in his bid for a third term of the Big Apple's mayorship, and further he did not allow donations to his campaign funds. The breakdown is about $185 per vote for his re-election last term.
Whitman, however has been out fundraising for her upcoming race with Democrat Attorney General Jerry Brown. She has just boosted her personal donations another $15 million on Tuesday, to bring her personal total donations to $119 million. That is alot of eBay fees.
